Vogue Optical opticians are the friendly faces of our family of stores. Whether you need help picking out frames, a contact lens sitting or need your glasses fixed, our opticians are always available to lend a helping hand.
In this new blog post series, we will feature some of our opticians working at one of our 80+ locations across the Atlantic Provinces and Ontario.
Meet Melissa O’Meara
When did you join the Vogue Optical team?
I grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, but now live in Charlottetown, PEI. I have worked at the Brackley Point Road location in Charlottetown coming up to 11 years now.
What is your favorite thing about working in the vision care industry?
I love helping people to correct their vision and help to improve their day to day life.
Do you have a memorable anecdote from your time with Vogue Optical?
Seeing some of the young babies I have fit with glasses see their parent’s face clearly for the first time. It really does make your day seeing the smile on both the parent’s and child’s faces.
What is your personal fav style or shape for eyewear?
My personal favorite style is something that is classic you won’t get bored of easily but still stylish.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy running my 2 children to each of their sports—hockey, baseball, soccer, dance class, swimming lessons—and watching them participate in those. I also do enjoy getting together with friends or family.
